Brief History of Patal Bhuvaneshwar :-

Patal Bhuvaneshwar was discovered by the King Rituparna who was a king in Surya Dynasty.Adi Shankaracharya also visited this cave in 1191 AD. The priest of Patal Bhuvaneshwar live in nearby Bhuvneshwar village.The cave is 160 m long and 90 feet deep from the point of entrancewhere limestone rock formations have created various impressive stalagmite figures. Almost every god that you would have heard of resides in this mystifying cave.The cave is fully electrically illuminated. There are four entrances inside the cave named as ‘Randwar’ ‘Paapdwar’, ‘Dharamdwar’ and ‘Mokshadwar’.

Clothing : Light woolen clothes/ cottons in summer and Heavy woolen clothes in Winter

Patal Bhuvaneshwar Temple was constructed by the rulers of Chand and Katyuri dynasties and belongs to the 12th century AD.

Berinagis originally called Bedi-Nag. Berinag is a small hill Town, the place has around 9 snake temples. This place was named after King Bedi Madhava.

By Air: Pant Nagar which is 245 kms is the nearest airport to reach Bhuvaneshwar. There are regular flights from New Delhi.

Rail: Nearest Railway station is Tanakpur 152kms, Connected with Delhi, Kolkata, Lucknow, Dehradun and Mathura. and other parts of India. Taxis are available from Kathgodam Railway station to Bhuvaneshwar.
